The Gith Outpost

Explorers speak from time to time of the gith, a mysterious race akin to elves but also with some more savage—perhaps reptilian—blood. Ancient tales and half-remembered legends suggest that the gith originally came here from another, less hospitable, world, and that they maintain a connection to darker powers elsewhere in the universe—perhaps in the pits of the Abyss, perhaps elsewhere. Sages believe them to be kin, and perhaps subservient, to the more sinister githyanki, who are known to have an Abyssal stronghold.

It is generally accepted by explorers that the gith initially built a single outpost on their arrival on the Surface, and later expanded this with a larger fortress. It is suggested by explorers and sages that this fortress might contain portals to the older domains of the gith, reputedly including a fearsome prison, and caution is urged when visiting the gith domains. As a further addendum, old tales suggest that the gith and githyanki alike eat human flesh.
