The interior of the city includes several notable landmarks. A tower warded by various magics is home to an order of mages who wear black robes. They accept both true mages and shadowmages among their number. Also present in the city is a shrine to all the Gods, shared by priests of all faiths, and a smaller shrine to the goodly Powers only, where paladins may study and meditate in peace. A veteran warrior, once a captain of the city's elite guards who protect it from the distant threat of Mordor, has set up a school to train young warriors. There are numerous shops in the city, as well as an inn where weary explorers may rent rooms. Like most urban centers, Raven's Bluff has its own criminal element. Bands of rogues lurk in the more secluded alleys of the city, occasionally emerging onto the streets when no city guards are near in order to rob the unwary. Rumors speak of a guildmaster of thieves who commands the loyalty of these ruffians, and whose authority may extend into the sewers beneath the city. |
