owerful in force, the Anduin River provides a necessary divide between the evils of Mordor and the world of good beyond its sandy banks. Soft rushes and swampy land define the soil that has been deposited during the years as it flows south into the Blood Sea. The river itself flows deep into the Ithilien Forest, dividing it into two distinct sections. The east holds the growing hordes of Mordor, its gates of Minas Morgul and the mountains of Ephel Duath. The west harbors less sinister environs such as the White Mountains and the Dragonrealm, which are as deadly but do not present a danger to the whole world.
