he Avenmore Mountains are a mountain range of relatively low height extending down the western edge of the Great Eastern Desert. Crisscrossed by deep ravines cut by the Rilghorn Tributary, the Ishtar River, and the Twisting Rapids—the last of which divides it from the Eastern Mountains immediately to the north—the Avenmore range shelters the Protected Field within a secluded valley.
