flat plateau located in the northwestern corner of Mordor, bounded by Ephel Duath to the west and Ered Lithui to the north, Gorgoroth's landscape is comprised of a hellish rockscape of grey and brown. The soot and ash expelled by Mount Doom blankets everything; the raised roadways that cross the plains do not provide any shelter from the heat and the dry, sulphurous winds that whip up the choking dust.
