Great Delve of the Dwarves

Carved deep into the interior of one of the taller peaks in the Stoneforge Mountains north of Nevrast is a dwarven stronghold. While neither as famous nor as populous as that of King Kerrin's realm to the west, the Great Delve is said to be older, its subterranean halls hollowed out far back into antiquity. The dwarven populace here has dwindled over the centuries, thanks to the low birth rate of their kind coupled with the repeated depredations of goblins, gnolls, and various other unwelcome neighbors, but still the city remains inhabited and dwarves still work its mines. The dwarven guards—particularly the elite royal guards—remain stalwartly vigilant against intruders into their territory.
