he Sea of Nurnen is not, strictly speaking, a sea, but rather a lake deep within Mordor. Used chiefly as Sauron's water source for his fields, the Inland Sea extends over much of Mordor and is ensconced by Ephel Duath and Ered Lithui. Four rivers snake their way to the Sea from every cardinal direction, providing precious water to the forsaken area and helping to expand Sauron's farming base.
