Deep in the Western Wilds

he Western Wilds are a most inhospitable part of the Underdark, where anyone and anything may be found—and frequently is. Based on reports from drow scouts, the far reaches of the Western Wilds contain a seemingly natural mushroom forest and a network of many tunnels. Wild rothe graze freely on the mushroom plants, and are in turn preyed upon by assorted monsters. Rumor has it that svirfnebli have been seen out here, and possibly even humans; some of the more powerful drow nobles are concerned that if this latter rumor is true, then the fringes of the Western Wilds must conceal some kind of pathway between the Underdark and the hated Surface. Thus far, no scout of Aluhryn has yet found such a connecting route.
